The bags are checked in, the cats have gone kicking and screaming (literally!) into their carriers, and we’re now hanging out in the departures lounge for another couple of hours until our flight to Frankfurt boards.

It’s right about now that the 3-4 hours of sleep we managed to get last night starts to show its’ toll. Good thing the benches are somewhat comfy.

Next stop, Amsterdam!

One last night under the snow

We leave for the Calgary airport in just over 14 hours. Clearly we’re not quite ready to go yet. It’s not as bad as it looks, as most everything that still needs to be packed is sitting next to the box it has to go in, and anything left over gets broomed into garbage bags and curb’d. The cats are helping by tearing around and frantically attacking one another in all of the open space that they’ve suddenly discovered, and I still have beer in the fridge that won’t live to see the sun come up.

Still, this could be a bit of a long night.

In two short days, we’re going to be hopping onto a plane from Calgary to Amsterdam (with a brief stop in Frankfurt), where we’ll be spending at least the next year.

There’ll be much more to come here over the next few days, but getting this off the ground was the first step.

In the meantime, if you’re in Calgary, why not come to the Rose & Crown tonight after work and help send us off?
